What Does The Non-Compete Ban Mean For Your Business?

There has been a lot of excitement and discussion about the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) decision to ban non-compete agreements. This ban was officially published in April 2024 and will begin to take effect 120 days after its publication. While there is a lot of excitement around this decision, it also raises some questions about the effect it will have, especially on small businesses.

This ban specifically targets non-compete agreements for non-executive employees, and does not extend to other types of non-compete agreements that you might have in place, such as independent contractors, customer non-solicitation, partnerships, etc.
